ROLEPLAY rules Sampletextimg4php-10

The rules listed below are obligatory but not necessarily permanent, so check back often for updates.

The following rules apply to the entire forum, not specific categories.

  1. No harassing other members of the forums. Discriminatory, racial, sexist, or religious slurs against another member will not be taken lightly. Make sure that if you are "joking" with another member, that they see eye to eye with you on that joke and are not offended.

If this rule is broken immediate disciplinary action will be taken. A moderator will kindly warn you the first time. The second offense will involve temporary banning from that topic. If the actions are still continued, the member in question will be banned from the forum and be placed under the scrutiny of the admin. If allowed to return and there is another offense then the member will be permanently banned.

  2. No ads or links to other sites without the permission of the admin. Networking sites such as myspace, facebook, twitter, and youtube are allowed. All ads and links should only appear in private messages away from the discussion boards.

The first time an ad or link is posted, it will be removed by a moderator and the member will be warned. If the ad continues to be posted then the member will be temporarily banned from the topic. If the actions are still continued the member in question will be banned from the forum and be placed under the scrutiny of the admin. If allowed to return and there is another offense then the member will be permanently banned.

  3. No spamming or flooding the forums. Do not create multiple topics that are irrelevant to the category or have absolutely no purpose in the forum. Repeatedly clicking the "post" button will do you no good since there is a flood block. Do not try and override this.

It is impossible to spam or flood the forum by repeated clicks, however if an attempt is made, it will be noticed and disciplinary actions will follow quickly. The topics created will be deleted (or if the topic is simply in the wrong category, it will be moved to the correct one) and the member will be warned. If the spamming continues then the member will be banned immediately from the forum and be placed under the scrutiny of the admin. If allowed to return and there is another offense then the member will be permanently banned.

The following rules apply to the ROLEPLAY category and its topics.

  1. No OOC (Out Of Character) conversations. Do not include any personal OOC relationships or problems in any of the role plays. There are other topics for this and a chatbox on the front page.

A post may include OOC conversations so long as it is clearly marked and if it does not succeed more than the post itself. A member will never be banned from the forum by breaking this rule, however they will be warned. If a member continues to disobey then they will have to leave the role play and will not be allowed to post again until the OOC conversation is finished elsewhere.

  2. No GMing (God Modding).
GMing is where your character can not be killed or be hit by another. A definition of GMing on the internet: "Any form of cheating by automatic hits and controlling another player's character."

A member will be warned the first time this rule is broken and they will be asked to edit their post. However, if it is repeated then the moderators will assume that the member does not know how to role play. They will be forced to leave the role play and complete a tutorial before they can return.

  3. No one line posting. One-lining is posting one or two sentences that may or may not include dialogue. This makes it very hard for other members to respond. All posts must meet the minimum requirement of a standard five-sentence paragraph.

A member will be warned the first time this rule is broken and they will be asked to edit their post. However, if it is repeated then the moderators will assume that the member does not know how to role play. They will be forced to leave the role play and complete a tutorial before they can return.

Before posting, you must agree to all the rules written above. To agree, "reply" with the following statement exactly as it is written:

I [insert name] agree to all the rules above and therefore understand that I will not be given any leniency should I break these rules. I also know that I am accountable for keeping up to date on the rules and "ignorance" is not an excuse should I break them.

If you believe that you will have trouble following one of the rules, would like to add one, or believe one should not be listed here, please contact the admin or a moderator.
